Here's an interesting article, but I think several of these are a stretch.

The list:

1. China vs. Everyone in the Pacific
2. China vs. The United States
3. Russia vs. NATO
4. Iran vs. Saudi Arabia
5. Civil War in Iraq
6. Kurdistan Independence War
7. Israel vs. Hezbollah
8. Civil War in Turkey
9. Civil War in Afghanistan
10. China vs. India

Now honestly, I see many on that list that just aren't realistically likely. Sure there's conflict, and those conflicts could escalate, but for a number of reasons I just don't see actual war likely in scenarios 1, 2, 3, 4, and 10. In these scenarios the risks involved in war are so heavily outweighed by continued (tentative) peace.

What is missing is the one scenario that to me is the most likely for full on war, and the most terrifying. US vs. Pakistan...

Pakistan is a nuclear nation that is always in the precipice of being taken over by the extremists. If the extremists ever do make a move, or assume control; US policy is that we invade to secure those weapons. This is actually an Obama policy and one of the very few I strongly agree with.

Well, if Obama keeps downsizing our military, it won't be able to invade a Girl Scout Jamboree, let alone Pakistan.

Pakistan is a wierd and scary country. Sending in troops, no matter the cause, will not be any cakewalk, and IMHO Obama is hardly the CinC I think most able to pull it off.
Unfortunatly, no one currently vying for the Oval Office is......

No Pakistan would be a nightmare, but I'm confident we'd get a LOT of help from India.

Obama is making the same mistake we do after every war. We scale back our military, and EVERY last time we've done it, we take it too far...every freaking time.

I can't imagine what a cluster-fudge it would be to simultaneously try to secure all of their nukes at once (either by grabbing them or destroying them). I'm sure someone in the DOD has the playbook, but OMG what an operation that would be. Even before the Obama gutting of the military, I think our military would be hard pressed to get that done by ourselves. We'd need the best that India and the UK had to offer, and it would sure be nice to have the Canadians and Aussie's with us. Oh, and South Korean SF; they're some hard chargers too.

Most likely Pakistan situation would be just what's been rumored for years, and that's a Special Ops raid to grab their nukes.

Today, it's possible India would be a partner in the mission.

Other possible conflicts:

A bloody revolution in Mexico, most likely if we close off the border to illegals.
This would precipitate a revolution that would be most likely won by hard corp Leftists aided by Cuba and the Islamics.
This would be followed by a bloody border war on the US-Mexico border.
The Mexican "Conquistadors" (Spanish ancestry) elites run the country and use the USA as a safety valve for their trouble makers.
Close off that safety valve and the country will explode.
I suspect that's why American presidents for the last 30 years haven't done anything about illegals.

Another China-Russia fight. These have been very bloody border affairs in the past but kept very quiet.

Israel versus Syria-Iraq. If ISIS or Assad win look for provocation against Israel.

Israel-Egypt. If the current management falls, it's likely the Muslim Brotherhood could take over. Result would be almost immediate war on Israel.
As for Civil War in Afghanistan or Iraq...... how would you notice?

I don't think the Muslim Brotherhood would be that dumb...oh sure they would seriously consider it, but it would be playing right into Israel's hands. Israel is just begging for another Arab war of some sort, which will probably shut down the UN forever...I think Israel would pay that price.
