10mm Warm Reloads?

Hello, is there a powder on the market that'll equal the IMR-800X loads? 135s clock an actual 1825fps from a 5in Nowlin barreled Para conversion but as you might well know 800X doesn't meter well in the progressives!

Blue Dot is a close second. AA9, AA7, and Power Pistol also work well.
Even with a light bullet, 1825 is pretty darn fast. How's the pressure?

I've also had good luck in with Blue Dot for the 10mm.
10mm Nuke Loads

I gave up on 800X and a shelve full of other powders a couple months ago after testing Longshot.
The powder is weird in that after a certain level is reached adding more powder to the load actually reduces velocities much like I've seen with Lil Gun in the Casull and Linebaughs.
Last clocking resulted in 1890fps with the Nosler 135gn from two different 5in barreled 1911s (Nowlin/Kimber) at 0 degrees.
10mm Warm Loads

For you 155 & 165gn fans the Longshot loads tested peaked out at 1550fps with both weights using Gold Dots.

That's a dangerous place to be. When velocity stops increasing in proportion to charge weight increases it doesn't mean that the pressure doesn't continue to rise. What you see is a very small or neglible in crease in velocity for more powder and then the time/pressure curve goes straight up and stuff goes everywhere.
That Sounds Logical Charlie,

I've read the same discription before tho for the life of me I can't reason it out. More pressure equals less velocity measured, since you wrote it I'll believe it!
When we did the .475 Linebaugh work ups with Lil Gun (both in FA sixguns) I wasn't real concerned with over pressure tho tseems I shuld have thinking back. In the good/bad ole days we used triplex loads in the 454 Casull that nowdays I wouldn't think about using.
Anyone have suggestions on which portable unit is best for testing pressures?
Thanks All
Ohler makes a model that works with a strain gage you epoxy to the area surrounding the chamber. Works great with rifles but have no idea if it works with pistols and even less sure on revolvers. Shooting Times handloading editor, Rick Jamison, used one and really like the data it provided like pressure, peak to peak, etc. Too expensive for my pocketbook though.
The Oehler Model 43 is remarkably accurate when compared to industry standard gear. The drawback is that the gauge is a basically permanent installation and must have two wires soldered to it.

It is possible- but far from practical- to put one on a revolver. I've tried it and it is tough to get the wires in the right place without having them hit the top strap.

My solution has been to get a Contender barrel for major handgun cartridges if I need to do much work with it.
