Hello, is there a powder on the market that'll equal the IMR-800X loads? 135s clock an actual 1825fps from a 5in Nowlin barreled Para conversion but as you might well know 800X doesn't meter well in the progressives!

10mm Nuke Loads

I gave up on 800X and a shelve full of other powders a couple months ago after testing Longshot.
The powder is weird in that after a certain level is reached adding more powder to the load actually reduces velocities much like I've seen with Lil Gun in the Casull and Linebaughs.
Last clocking resulted in 1890fps with the Nosler 135gn from two different 5in barreled 1911s (Nowlin/Kimber) at 0 degrees.

That Sounds Logical Charlie,

I've read the same discription before tho for the life of me I can't reason it out. More pressure equals less velocity measured, since you wrote it I'll believe it!
When we did the .475 Linebaugh work ups with Lil Gun (both in FA sixguns) I wasn't real concerned with over pressure tho tseems I shuld have thinking back. In the good/bad ole days we used triplex loads in the 454 Casull that nowdays I wouldn't think about using.
Anyone have suggestions on which portable unit is best for testing pressures?
Thanks All
