Hello Gents. I have an 1895 Chilean Mauser chambered in 7x57, pretty beat up, but shoots well and is solid. I'd like to put a mount on it but all I find are mounts for the Swedish model. Does anyone have any insight into what mount? Many thanks.
You might have to have it drilled and tapped and the bolt handle turned down, or B square might make a mount for it without doing all of that. I would try an internet search. You might take a look here. http://www.thecountryshed.com/s&k_scope_mounts.htm
So wouldn't it be the same for scope bases between the '94 (Swede) and '95 (Chile) Mausers?
For scope bases on Mausers there are two types. The small ones that allow you to mount them behind the stripper clip slot. And then there's the larger ones that are for a rifle that has had the stripper clip slot ground down to accomodate a scope base. I didn't know those dimensions were different on the '94's and '95's.
