One problem is that there hasn't been enough difference in Republicans and Democrats, at least on the issue of federal spending since about 2001. That seems to be changing since the 2006 and 2008 wake up calls, and that's a good thing. But I've been leaning more and more libertarian...still with the small "L", for now.

I see a mention of D-Day at FOX-News, despite the fact they've gone soft over the past three years, and also in the Poughkeepsie Journal. Good for them, and I would expect that from the Journal, despite their obvious liberal leanings. Dutchess County has strong roots in Revolutionary War history and a strong conservative base.
