make the news? When was the last time Pearl Harbor Day made it to the news? Pretty big stuff when I was growing up, Pearl Harbor Day was. What a long time ago that was. What a short memory our "once great republic" has. D-Day was pretty big stuff when I was growing up. Now I'm all grown up and then some, and . . .

it no longer matters.

America's casket still bobs about in the murky waters, refusing to slip below the surface. Ahhhhhh, is she even WORTH saving? Or should we just prepare ourselves for tomorrow? Shall we rehearse the chants of Amerikka tomorrow? All together now.

Democrat good, Republican bad.

Barack Hussein Obama, mmmm, mmmm, mmmm!!!

Sarah Palin is an idiot.

Barney Frank, GOOD MAN, OUR HERO!!!

Sarah Palin is an idiot. Not enough feeling class, this time like you MEAN it!!!

Sarah Palin is an idiot.

Anthony Weiner, brilliant genius, freedom fighter!!!

Democrat good, Republican bad.

Okay folks, not bad for a first class. We'll meet here again tomorrow, same BAM time, same BAM channel, for more Chants Of The Transformed Obama Nation. Funny, that acronym spells COTTON.

One problem is that there hasn't been enough difference in Republicans and Democrats, at least on the issue of federal spending since about 2001. That seems to be changing since the 2006 and 2008 wake up calls, and that's a good thing. But I've been leaning more and more libertarian...still with the small "L", for now.

Incidentally, "Time Marches On" was written by the legendary country songwriter Bob McDill.

Uh-oh, my bad...it WAS Bobby Braddock that wrote that song, not Bob McDill. A sincere mea culpa for misremembering :(.

I see a mention of D-Day at FOX(y)-News, despite the fact they've gone soft over the past three years, and also in the Poughkeepsie Journal. Good for them, and I would expect that from the Journal, despite their obvious liberal leanings. Dutchess County has strong roots in Revolutionary War history and a strong conservative base.
