Still shoots as sweet...
I have gotten my latest .22 build finished up, other than the suppressed barrel...that will likely be 4-6 more months before the paperwork clears. I wasn't willing to wait that long so I am using an ER Shaw barrel till then. While it looks like a 10/22 it contains just a single Ruger part, the rest are all aftermarket. I decided that if I was going to pay $800.00 for a barrel (barrel plus tax stamp) I should build a top shelf host for it. This is my 4th 10/22 but the first time I have taken the build this far.
The Parts list...
Stock - Hogue
Receiver - Nodak Spud
Bolt - Tactical Innovations CNC Machined
Charging handle - Tactical Innovations
Barrel - ER Shaw
Complete trigger group - Timney (includes mag release, safety and all internal parts plus CNC housing)
Buffer pin - Pro Mag
Sights - NoDak Spud
Receiver pins - oversized fitted by me
Barrel V-Block - Adjustable Tactical Innovations
Magazine - Butler Creek
Action/Stock screw - Ruger
So far range tests are giving me 1/2 inch groups at 30 yards using iron sights, I am sure that would improve greatly with optics but for now I want to stick with the irons to practice for an Appleseed. I am using Federal Auto-Match ammo but will test others as well.
