Djl, I'm glad you noted the difference between an emergency off-field landing and a crash; the slight difference is another sign that most journo's don't really strain themselves to report details.

Still, I couldn't help but think the article and photos (and videos) evoked powerful memories among older Brits--burning warplanes (B-17s in particular) was a common sight in England, once upon a time. :ehsmile:
