Well, the last night of the Republican Convention was last night. They had a surprise guest star, Clint Eastwood.
It was one of the few things I did see. I videotaped the thing, except I neglected to consider it might run over so I'm afraid I cut off Romney's speech.
:help: Eastwood was NOT up to "par." I've heard his remarks were "unscripted," and I believe it. It's the ONLY excuse for such a poor performance. It was painful to watch. I admired him as Rowdy Yates, as Detective Callahan. The last major film he was in that I saw, Gran Torino, was terrific. He's always turned in a great film.
And, yes all those were scripted and rehearsed. I get it.
But still, I was sad to see him last night. One radio commentator called him "doddering," which is insulting, but I really can't argue.
What think you guys? Did you see him? What do you think?
