While I understand where this guy is coming from, the shirt will be misunderstood by a lot of folks who read it. In fact, the ethic of many departments is to protect and serve, and this chip-on-the-shoulder T-shirt doesn't do much to promote that ideal.

While that may be the motto of many a PD, courts have ruled that ain't so. This "Black Lives Matter," BS is just that, BS.

I got a BIG law enforcement culture shock moving from Arkansas to Nevada. In Arkansas they firmly believe in protect and serve...and the cops (in most counties) are very big on the SERVE. Be a woman stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire, and you can bet a cop is going to stop and change her tire for her.

In Nevada, not so much. And OMG are they nuts with the speeding tickets. My little section of highway 50 is probably the most patrolled 12 mile stretch of highway on planet earth. And talk about a speed trap, they have engineered it to be a perfect speed trap. In 12 miles the speed limit changes 9 times!! NINE freaking times!!

LE is a necessary evil, but they do need community oversight. I spent 16 years on the street, and I'm here to tell you there are some cops out there that I'm sure a concealing halo's, because you wouldn't believe the crap they put up with, and always remain cool. And then there's the VERY SMALL % that abuse their authority and screw the reputation of cops all across the nation.

I personally would like to see LE everywhere make a BIG push to encourage minorities of every flavor to get into LE. I think that's a good idea for everyone concerned.

God bless the good cops out there...you're worth 10x what they pay you. For the bad cops, we can't get them off the street fast enough.
