Was anyone else watching The Firm, the show that replaced Prime Suspect? I was. Fairly lame, but it did seem to have five minutes of "overarching long plot development" in every episode.

Anyway, last week NBC announced they were pulling it from its juicy Thursday prime time slot and stuffing into the Saturday Death Watch spot. Was supposed to start there tonight. Checked the NBC website today to see what time it was on and they've already replaced in the Death Watch slot with a rerun of The Voice.

It gets weirder: The Wikipedia page on the series is gone, as is the Wiki episode listing page.

And weirder yet: The TV series has even been removed from the Wikipedia "disambiguation" page!:confused::confused:

It's like NBC is trying to erase all traces that it ever existed.:confused::confused:

NBC has apparently finally put this pig out of its misery as of Friday. I think last night's showing might have been the last to air. They didn't wrap up all the dangling plot lines but they did allow two of the characters to get married, the leadup to which has been running for several eps. No previews for the next episode were shown, which is almost always a bad (fatal) sign.

I honestly don't know why I stuck with the thing until the end, unless it's just plain old TV-OCD. The plots were silly and the acting was among the worst I've ever seen anywhere. In fact the whole thing could have been retitled Bad Acting Showcase. Maybe it should have been--might have picked up a camp/ironic following.

Now I will have to satisfy my itch for silly-ass plots and horrible acting with Falling Skies.

 HEY! I like this show! It has cool alien buggers, and guns. And guns.

And more guns.

Did I mention it has guns?

Yes, some cool guns--M14s and Galils and other cool stuff. The problem is they're carried around and used by bad actors doing and saying stupid and silly things. And real badly, too.

Yep, I have issues with it too, but TV these days is a wasteland.

I'll watch it.

Did you hear about Josh Whedon's diatribe?

Sadly, he's now off my list...

Yeah, a lover of socialism :help:....a philosophy so devoid of any good that only an intellectual could praise it.....to paraphrase what some old wag said about it.

Wow.

It always amazes me how a person can be so brilliant on one level and a complete moron jackwagon on another.:confused::confused:
I was pretty sure ol' Joss was left of center by a good margin. I remember watching an interview of him and the cast of Buffy as an extra on one of the box sets (season 6, I think). Tara was shot in that season and he remarked.."guns...nothing good ever comes from guns." :ek:

'Course it never stopped him from using them in his shows...'specially Firefly and the last couple of seasons of Angel. Axes, swords, maces, clubs...they're okay. Guns...bad.

Oh, well. I'm still going to buy The Avengers when it comes out on Blu-ray in September.
