I emailed him a couple of years back when I read Gun Boy was out of prison. As near as I can tell he's out of the Gun Zone and into rag bags aka sail boats.

I corresponded with him some.

You can find him here: On The Beach Blog | Off the record, on the QT in WHB, and very hush-hush…

CSM - I am pretty sure gunkid dropped in on this site while back. I think he went elsewhere after some updates to this thread:

And this one which links to an alleged picture of the assault wheelbarrow

Thomas Jefferson Once Remarked...

Thanks, Dean could be an asshat but I kind of miss his viewpoint sometimes.
"Men of energy of character must have enemies; because there are two sides to every question, and taking one with decision, and acting on it with effect, those who take the other will of course be hostile in proportion as they feel that effect."

That's one possibility, spwenger. My take was always that Dean just tolerated fools poorly. He knows a lot, and is willing to share his knowledge and his opinions. Many took affront when his opinion differed from their opinions, even when his opinion was based on extensive experience and their opinion was based on limited experience. Dean isn't the only one that found that foolish.
I miss him.

Love him or hate him the excellent signal to noise ratio enjoyed by this site in its many incarnations over the years can definitely be traced to his influence.

Aw, that thread made me miss Dean more.

When I first came here back when it was the AmBack forums years ago, one of the first things I learned was not to pretend I knew more than I knew. As soon as I realized I was ignorant compared to everyone here, and listened rather than spout errors, I found Dean to be one of the best sources for being new to guns that I could find.

I'm just glad that the only person I pissed off was CP those first few months. I don't think my confidence could have survived a dressing down by Dean that early on. Which isn't to say Charlie's smack-down of me was pleasant.
