Awwwwwwwwwww, Sam!
That's in Maryland, not the entire U.S. of A. (at least not yet!) So your subject headers is needlessly alarming, #1, and, #2, what more than a few failed to note ten days ago is that the omnibus appropriations bill passed by the Senate, which had passed the House in 2003, contains several important reforms in Federal gun laws, perhaps most importantly, one which protects the privacy of people who lawfully exercise their Constitutional rights. The provision requires that federal records on lawful gun purchasers who are approved by NICS be destroyed within 24 hours!
I think that this could be a harbinger of "good things" in re the "Assault Weapons" {sic} sunsetting organically.
Sad about Maryland… perhaps we need to send in some shock troops to help out our friend "Magnum."
