Onetime member (he might still be around, can't recall seeing him here in a while, though) Michael Bane has been been on fire on the GC issue the last two days. Please take the time to read his blog entries for the 29th and 28th:

Good stuff!

After listening (well, enduring) to Piers whatshisname being shut down by two pro-gun women, I thought about the parallels between alcohol and firarms, 'assault weapons' to be specific.

*Both are used recreationally (alcohol far more)
*Irresponsible use has led to deaths (alcohol FAR more)
*Both actually have beneficial uses (guns FAR more!)
SO how well did that banning thing work for alcohol, arguably a far more deadly and less useful substance??

Some good stuff in there Snake I just wish it was not white on black background seeing in front as I type. But this is good from Saul Alinksy..

Rule 5: Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It's hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage

Now I see the dufus Piers Morgan engage in this all the time with those he dispises.

Then Bane brings this into play a nice understanding of the oval office by Teddy R..I might just get educated alittle more today :)

Our loyalty is due entirely to the United States. It is due to the President only and exactly to the degree in which he efficiently serves the United States. It is our duty to support him when he serves the United States well. It is our duty to oppose him when he serves it badly. This is true about Mr. Wilson now and it has been true about all our Presidents in the past. It is our duty at all times to tell the truth about the President and about every one else, save in the cases where to tell the truth at the moment would benefit the public enemy.

Yep, I've only met Bane on a couple of occasions, but he's a pretty sharp guy.

Emblematic of that is his realization that horseradish is an excellent complement to salmon...

Or tuna, for that matter.

Well it looks like Magpul is pulling out of CO maybe according to Banes Blog

The first is that the total financial consequences of these poorly drafted (thank you, Mr. Bloomberg!), ill-thought-out laws is becoming clear. Obviously, Magpul will leave the state, taking their 200 primary and 400-600 trickle down jobs with them. The currently thriving manufacturing sector of plastic molding, who mold for more companies than just MagPul will be decimated. This at a time when Colorado is struggled to keep its recovery momentum

The states MS/TX have been auditioning gun manufactures to move to there states

Top elected officials in Texas and Mississippi want gun and ammunition makers in several states to flee and relocate to their respective states.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Mississippi House Speaker Philip Gunn, both Republicans, have made overtures to Colorado-based Magpul Industries and other manufacturers, suggesting that they relocate

We in MS would more than welcome them as I am sure is the same in TX.We have like 5 manufactures now in the state

Mississippi has five makers of firearms and ammunition, according to Mississippi Development Authority records. The most prominent of those is Olin Corp.'s Winchester unit in Oxford. The state lured Olin to Oxford from East Alton, Ill., after the company couldn't reach a wage-reduction deal with its union in Illinois and Mississippi put up $25 million in incentives.

Also in Mississippi, Precision Delta Corp. makes ammunition in Ruleville, MAC makes polymer bullet casings in Bay St. Louis, Nammo Talley assembles shoulder-launched rockets in Columbus and BAE Systems completes howitzers in Hattiesburg
