Just got a vacuum sealer. Apart from the obvious food items, what other things would benefit from being vacuum bagged?

I thought of pistol magazines, strike-anywear matches and small gun parts as good candidates for bagging; seams like a good way to reduce potential rusting (especially if the parts were rust-free and properly lubricated to begin with).

Clothing, i.e change of socks, under garments etc. Sweaters or Sweatshirts, Batteries, in case of leakage, money, Meds and First Aid supplies and why not some ammo as well. HTH

I vac-pack a lot of stuff. One of the problems with sealing is that if you open the package, it's no longer waterproof, and it probably will take up more space than before.

To get around these issues, I generally will put things inside a ziplock bag (unsealed) and then vac-pack that. If I do need to open the vac pack, I have a handy bag to put the remainder in.
