I have a Ruger Blackhawk with a strange front sight. The more I look at it the more I am convinced the sight leans to the port side. Looking at the gun from the muzzle the front sight appears not to be mounted on the top of the barrel, but slightly off center.
My Blackhawk in 45 Colt with 4 5/8" barrel has a front sight that seems to have a slight "bend" in it. What I mean is that, using a clock face for orientation, it appears to be mounted properly at 12, not 11:59, but it seems to be kinked ever so slightly. I have to say that , even though it's noticeable, the gun shoots where it should.
