It's looking more that way every day.
But when the dirt comes out, he'll have a problem with women and minorities. And of course the sizable Bern-It-All-Down contingent won't vote for him, they'll just sit home.
If the Dem party had any sense, they'd just lest Bern-It-Down have the nomination, and then get thoroughly beat by Trump in November. And then they could say, "America clearly doesn't want full-on socialism," and then try to come up with a more moderate candidate (with more moderate positions) for 2024.

Pardon me for pointing out that HAVING life insurance does NOT keep you alive.
(I once knew a welder from Houston, who was killed while "pipelining" the SAME week that he & his wife bought a 500,000.oo life policy, just 2-3 days after she gave birth to their daughter. = YES, the company paid off the "double indemnity", i.e., a MILLION BUCKS, tax-free, to his wife/kid.)

Snake, you're expecting/hoping people with the fervor of a true believer to be logical. They can't be logical if they're a true believer in the stuff the Bern is peddling. OK, some may be bright enough to realize that it's unworkable, but possibly a winning strategy, but entirely too many are looking at "free" stuff, not realizing that it'll still have to be paid for; BY TAXES!
Gotta wonder about the smarts of those who suggest Hillary as VP. I recall the many mea culpas after the election where so many admitted they were reluctant to point out how badly she was hated for fear of being labeled as "unprogressive, bigoted , deplorable, etc".
Been trying to come up with a new election shirt slogan. Not bigoted, racist, homophobic (need some more descriptors) but still deplorable is a possible but too long. Maybe Still deplorable and proud of it? Keep America Great?

So as a middle of the road kind of guy (I don't like either party), I see it differently. I have a few friends who are lifelong Democrats, and none of them like Bloomberg. To take it further, they don't even know anyone in the party who really like him.
So for one, I don't see Bloomberg winning the nomination because he's not "left" enough for the Democrats. He's a former republican, he's still VERY republican when it comes to business, and he's at best a "moderate" on social issues. That's not very appealing to the Democratic base...And it's the base who will decide the nomination.
As for Hillary, freaking forget it...she's done (she's just in denial about the whole thing). But after stealing the nomination from Bernie in 2016, I think she has lost the support of anyone who isn't a billionaire on Wall Street.
Bernie is the clear favorite with the base. Problem is, he's really not electable at all.
Buttegieg has "curb appeal" for the moderates, and some support from the hardcore left because he's gay. But his actual platform is indistinguishable from Bloomberg's.
Regardless, the way I see it; they have already lost. And this is coming from someone who really hates Trump. I personally can't stand the guy at all, but he's going to win in November sure as the sun will rise tomorrow.

TRUTH is that the 2020 General Election is OVER already & the DIMs are the LOSERS in the race for the WH, the HoR & in the US Senate, too. = The night of 03NOV20 (which is my 74th BD btw) will be a HUMILIATING BLOODBATH for the DIMs.
(MY favorite birthday present will start about 2000 hours, EDT.)

(I was there in '68, writing for our college's newspaper & "reporting back" by phone to the FM radio station. = a REAL MESS, that was & not even 10% of the VIOLENCE was "covered by" ABC, CBS or NBC.)

That wouldn't surprise me. Come to think of it, I can't come up with a scenario for the 2020 Dim nomination that would surprise me. Absolutely anything could and probably will happen. Be afraid! Be very afraid!FYI, I expect Bernie to win the nomination and Hillary to swoop in and steal it from him as she did in 2016.
