Not a fan of the Bren 10 at all. Wasn't real impressed when they came out, and then became REALLY unimpressed when D&D basically screwed everyone on the magazines.

Had it not been for Cooper's association (something he rather regretted), the Bren 10 would have just drifted off into obscurity and not hold their "Holy Grail" collector status.

For a DA 10mm the S&W 1000 series was a much better pistol. Just as accurate, more reliable, MUCH cheaper, and you could actually have one.

IrishCop,

I still don't wear socks (though NOT a MIAMI VICE fan) but then I usually wear boat shoes & nobody that I know does.

Last fall I was riding a city bus to The Alamo (NO reasonably priced parking)
& a woman across from me asked me if she should buy me some socks, so that my feet wouldn't be cold.
(I said, "No thanks".)

yours, satx

I loved my issue wool boot socks. I managed to have a supply so that for about 10 years after retiring I was still using them. FYI, if I wasn't wearing Wellingtons or Coccorans, I had a pair of custom cowboy boots. The only shoes I have are the ones I wore with my class As or dress uniform.

FYI, never developed a like for Miami Vice. In Pursuit of Honor was the only thing Johnson did I enjoyed. Got the CD in the cabinet.

I too failed to develop an appreciation for Miami Vice. Maybe it was because I spent so much time overnighting in Miami and never found much to recommend it. I grew to consider Atlantic City, Miami, and Las Vegas as the "triangle of sleaze" (the triangle was actually a quadrilateral, with a vertex down by New Orleans.)

Top, with four kinds of footwear (Wellingtons, Corcorans, S***-Kickers and Oxfords) I'm guessing shorts aren't a major feature of your wardrobe. (Although boot socks, oxfords and shorts, paired with a Hawaiian shirt, can lend a rather fetching "German tourist" motif.)

No, jeans are my daily dress. Once on a while I'll wear slacks for church or a suit for a wedding/funeral.

I used to do the tucked shirt bit when I carried a 1911 Mexican style. Now with a decent strong side holster I wear a brush jacket.

csmkersh,

Fwiw, my new S&W 9mm Shield just "disappears" under a golf shirt when carried in my "tortilla-style" holster.

Just this Tuesday, my housekeeper said, "I thought you bought that little pistol to carry every day. When are you going to start carrying it?"

I said, "I'm wearing it on my belt, right now."

Diana said, "Well I can't see it at all & I'm looking."

I'd smooth "burn up" if I wore that brush coat anytime except in the middle of Winter.

yours, sw
