Folks,
Most of the vastly experienced carbon dioxide and methane production specialists around here know I post occasionally to the S&W Forum.

I recently received a ban until 2300 hours 25 Dec 2020 for multiple political postings.

HUH? What I do? I thought I was studiously ignoring politics on that Forum?

The last posties I recall were about Joe Mannix and Matt Helm media revolvers oh and heroes getting beaten up a lot.

I suspect a few folks here know moderators on that forum, could they tell me whut I done did??

Geoff
Who is puzzled and going to GT Distibutors in Orange Park FL today and they deal a lot of surplus S&W revolvers and semi-autos I usually post interesting items.

We live in the age of Cancel Culture, and are watching the death of free speech right before our eyes. Our other liberties will soon follow.

BTW, I'm on Double Secret Probation myself on my favorite model car board. Why? Because I said "Just because you own a Corvette, it doesn't mean you're a 'car guy.' " Three guesses who I was talking about.

Personally...I'd like to se a gun forum or two where politics is forbidden. It would be nice to take a break from the constant bombardment of one side or the others "ideals", and just talk guns.

Try The High Road. No politics. When it gets into poly ticks it gets closed.

Guns is one topic that can't be fully covered without political discussion. When the haters stop trying to restrict/ban/confiscate them, then we can all move on from politics.

Another site that does not allow politics or flaming is the Colt forum.
It's a technical forum for discussing the various Colt firearms, but most any firearm subject is welcome.

Under the same new ownership as many other forums are now, it's loosened up "some" but still not flaming or politics.
People are polite and those that aren't, aren't around too long.
Its' a nice change from the usual..........

Yep, like a good many others.

Since then the Colt forum is allowing more and more non firearms specific posts, but still not like most others.

I'm waiting for VS (which owns this forum) to start forcing mergers, then since they're Canadian trying to purge the "icky gun people"... a few friends and I have started to spitball the idea of buying the old BattleRifles domain name and spinning up a "lifeboat" over there.

NOT to compete, but as a fail-safe to provide backup lines of communication. Ed, I might also suggest that it would be prudent to start looking for somewhere to archive the M14 data for preservation. We have a LOT of history here, and all it would take is one jerk with a wild hair at Corporate to put it all up in smoke--I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job, but for some reason after I hit 40 and especially with the morons with 18-wheelers making my morning Frogger-For-Real-Marbles game worse every day, Asset Protection, particularly Data Protection and Backup, are consuming a lot more of my thoughts of late.
