Given the attack on the NYPD officers today by the machete wielding scum bag, and the other recent attacks in major Western cities, I am thinking we need our cities to overhaul and expand their CCW policies right now.

Like Israel, we may be dealing with these scum bags on a regular basis now, and CCW is one way to help limit their effectiveness when they attack.

Snort. Reality alter dogma? Never happen. Unless the movers & shakers have a sudden epithany that they can't appease/negotiate with fanatics

David; I agree with you 110%, but I see you are in New Jersey. How unfortunate, since the politicians have screwed up your laws so bad, that I don't see anything positive happening in the foreseeable future.
Hopefully, with the elections coming next month, there will be some honest politicians that can see the handwriting on the wall, and bring some common sense to the table. Hang in there, and good luck in you endeavors.

Come to think of it. Many of these "mass shooters" wipe their computers before they launch.

Could they be covering up on line conversions to Islam?

I'm finding living in a CCW state more comforting than ever. Granted a handgun isn't much, but it sure beats a sick, sinking sense of helplessness.

To ALL,

What we should start doing is HANGING every single one of the terrorists & within sight of the crime scene.
(For those of you who have not seen a hanging, it's NOT "real pretty" but then "putting them to sleep" isn't JUST imVho.)

Especially if you are not dropping the subject, breaking their neck, but letting them strangle as they dangle--extremely ugly.

PERRY SMITH of IN COLD BLOOD infamy took 18 minutes to die WITH a broken neck, according to the KDC.

Ugly indeed. It sounds as if his neck was not completely broken to sever the spine, so he strangled.

bearcat6,

YEP. = In 3 decades of LE, I cannot remember any killer who MORE richly deserved a "bad end", like the old Apache punishment of being staked out on an anthill in the hot Sun.
(Assuming that Truman Capote & the local sheriff didn't conspire to lie to everyone, Smith said that he THROUGHLY ENJOYED killing the 4 bound/helpless Clutters.)

ADDENDA: As TX and other states are having a hard time buying "the lethal cocktail of drugs", I suggest a length of good quality rope, as appropriate.

just my opinion, sw

You hit this right on the money. In our race to make death 'nice' for criminals we have lost sight of what they did to deserve the punishment.

Kevin Gibson,

May I suggest the following note to Interpol's boss? = "Say it again & more forcefully, as we need MORE liberals to 'lose their pointed little heads' to self-generated explosions."
(Actually that should be IMPLOSIONS, as most LIBs have EMPTY heads.)

just my OPINION, sw

Kevin Gibson,

Me, TOO.

IF the Paris massacre had happened in Texas, I suspect that the brothers would have gotten shot by a civilian, if the LEO hadn't gotten them first.

SW,

That's a tough one, they were trained and armed with AK's, I wouldn't want to go against that armed only with a handgun personally. But if I had no choice, well then it's game on.

But the thing is, how long before others engage?

Mass shootings have happened in shall issue states, and come to find out it's actually a very small % of the people who are carrying, so they can get away with it. But the big difference is, you could walk into a place where no one is carrying, or you could walk into a place where 10 people are carrying...it's a roll of the dice.

"So you have to ask yourself, do I feel lucky" - Harry Callahan.

The argument between the two sides of whether it matters or not, each side will always have their cute little anecdotes, and constantly slinging them around is pointless. The FACT is, it's our RIGHT to be able to protect ourselves outside of our homes.

The other undeniable FACT is that all the horror stories that the anti-gunners have spewed for decades have never come to pass.

Even if a completely inept person fired back against those guys and was quickly killed, you've rattled them. The next guy may not be so inept. You could run into that old guy we heard about last year that put 4 rounds into an AR wielding psycho from his .357 blackhawk at 175 yards; while under fire.

Kevin Gibson,

Given the percentage of proficient hunters here in TX & in other States, a terrorist might well find himself/herself facing several civilians with scoped deer rifles, military rifles and/or shotguns.

A personal note: IF I found myself at a "mass shooting scene" & had nothing else, I'd look for a covered/concealed position & (at least) try to ambush the terrorist with a handgun.
(As our family lost members/close friends at the DAINGERFIELD CHURCH MASSACRE, I couldn't just "walk away".)

The bad guys being engaged by any sort of armed response is going to get inside of their OODA loop, buy time and save lives.

Unless you're in the wilds of Rockingham County or somesuch, a more robust force isn't going to be long in coming.
