Thanks Snake. The asking price is way too high given that the grips are not original and the finish doesn't look right. Might just be the picture though.

that is also a very common model for King guns and have a couple...

BUT don't stop looking though:thumbsup::thumbsup:

He's reduced the price to $850. Is that closer to real value?

If it was shiny new with proper grips it might be but I'd need to see it as an improvement over stuff I already have

What exactly are the "proper grips" for it? Nice original Colts, or did King have their own?

Those are very early Pachmayr rubber grips. King did sell grips from other makers but did not make them.

Actually King sold a very neat old gun box with their label on it, but I've only seen one. No idea who actually made it.

Now if the gun had worn a nice pair of Roper grips it would be a different story.
