Does anyone know the quality of the current Auto Ordnance 1911A1 standard pistols? I'm familiar with AO's old-time rep and read Dean's WWII AO report.
The reason I'm asking is that I can get a new 1911A1 from AO at a VERY good price with my NRA Instructor's discount. I've been holding out for a Colt, but I could get the AO now instead of waiting another year or so to have the cash for a Colt.
This would be my first 1911 pattern pistol and first .45 ACP. I'd probably use it for some training classes as a loaner pistol and possibly, depending on several factors, for carry myself.
