Quick shoot today, stress relief. Used nothing but 9mm ammo available at Wal Mart, so to test the cheapest stuff on the table today.
Ammunition used was Winchester White Box 100 round value pack 115 FMJ, both the old version, and the new bullet design. Also, Remington 100 round value pack 115 gr JHP, and Winchester 115 gr JHP.
Also tested was my new 14 round PO1 magazine, which worked perfectly, despite looking like a cat had attacked it, instead of being the new mag I expected when I paid $45.50 for it. I also checked, and the 10 and 14 round mags worked perfectly in the wife's CZ2075 RAMI.
The first magfuls were fired at 7 yards, and the Remington accuracy was far off what I expected, and the Old White Box, (OWB) was also bad. The New White Box(NWB) was much better. I wondered if it was me...Remington group was 5 inches across!
I settled down, and quit trying to be both fast and good, and went to 10 yards. Using all four ammo boxes, and 3 rounds each, I got a nice 2 inch group from both the Remington and the Win JHP, and NWB. The OWB gave me a 6 inch group, shot the same way as the others.....hmmmm.
The loving wife did get her opportunity to shoot the PO1 during this, and compare it to her RAMI. She still loves her RAMI, but was very impressed with the shootability of the PO1. I was still concerned with my cheap ammo test, so ran several more at 10 yards, still coming up good. Then I ran the bullseye target to 25 yards, and assumed a half-fast kneeling position, with barely braced arms on that bouncy board top. I ran the last 12 rounds of the NWB at 25, slow fire, and came up with a nice 6 inch group, with over half dead center on the bull. I think most of the flyers were my fault, definately not the pistol.
The PO1 ran without a hitch, digesting all this cheapo ammo without a burp, and showed it's colors by grouping very well when I took the effort. Speed shooting at combat distance did put everything well inside the innner scoring ring on a TQ15 target, but I should have done better. A few people stopped by to watch, and two ladies commented on my wife's good shooting skills. It wasn't scientific, but nice to evaluate the cheapest 9mm stuff around, as many of us are well on the bottom of the $ scale. She showed marked improvement in her skills, yet again - she shrinks her groups every single time she shoots.
The Winchester ammo was very clean burning, but the Remington was smoky as some reloads I have used....

Soon I hope to have a bench, powder/primer, and be able to report on my own handload performance, but all in all we had fun!

Note - pic is prototype PO1 - production ones say PO1 on the slide.

I'm going to be getting a P-01 shortly. (Thanks Mike!) And I'm really looking forward to it. I've been jonesing for one for over a year.
Can't wait!
