The wife and I own the Box set of the series. We know exactly what we're in for.Prepare thyself for "lyin', murderin', cheatin', connivin'; followed by Swearengen's favorite all purpose word...
A lot.
History Channel's got something tomorrow night at 9. And Nat Geo has a D-Day themed Drain the Ocean coming up sometime, I think maybe Monday night.D/L last night, hope to watch it tonight. Speaking of television... with this week being the 75th anniversary of D-Day, I was expecting to see a bunch of documentaries popping up but so far I haven't seen any listed.
Sorry I recommended this. What a silly PC fest. If one had never heard of D-Day before, one would think from watching this that at least half the US troops that hit Omaha and Utah beaches were Black. There were also shout-outs to women, Latinos, Indians, and Japanese-Americans that had nothing to do with D-Day.History Channel's got something tomorrow night at 9.
Sadly, I'm not surprised. HC hasn't been good for 15-20 years. And anytime you add reenactments to a documentary, it usually turns out bad.Sorry I recommended this. What a silly PC fest. And the "never before seen footage" was mostly that of modern day re-enactors and actors, which they attempted to make look old. And, of course, various random clips from nearly every part and every time of the war.
