The pistol shown on the video is a Sig 2022. I thought it was just available in 9mm and .40 S&W.

The cops could well have taken the gun used in the shooting as evidence. The news clip says she has 2 handguns.

When I was a paramedic and I ran those kinds of calls, I really empathized with the person who had to defend themselves. In every case they were distraught about what happened, looked like they had just ran a marathon...and when they were hit, they were scared. Most were scared because they had "survived" the incident but now were realizing they were hit (because most didn't feel the hit in the fight). And this one guy sticks in my mind...he wasn't worried that he was going to die for himself. He was worried that the father of his children was going to die; and who was going to provide for his kids. Have to respect a parent for having that kind of attitude.

In all my years in the field, I never had a woman who had defended herself with a gun. (knife, ball bat, pepper spray yes) Most women with guns were the one's who were the aggressors (not making a statement about women or society, that's just how I got the calls). Usually dealing with an overbearing husband or boyfriend.

There was one woman who killed her cop husband. And the husband's co-workers were all on scene, and NONE of them were being anything but kind and compassionate to the woman...They explained to me what an abusive A-hole the husband was and that they all knew this day was coming.

My heart goes out to this lady; so sucks that she had to go through that. I hope word gets out around her neighborhood not to mess with her. She deserves a lifetime of people leaving her the heck alone.

Did you notice in the video that her sister or friend said, "i use to bully her and now I'm leave her the hell alone..." I thought that was funny. I'm proud of this woman too. She did good for herself and the neighborhood.

A huge plus 1 there, Kevin. I hope this doesn't spur retaliation from the punks or their "buddies". And God Bless Her for fighting back!!
