Where should I start trying to correct failing to go completly in to lock up on a 4 inch bushingless bull barrel Rock Island Armory? It hangs up about 1/4 " from complete lock. The ammo is Triton Hi-master 850 fps (5 inch barrel). It does better with FMJ but will sometime hang up with that as well. Also the ejection angles are all over the place is there any way to adjust for this?

Ron, the short answer to your question is yes, it is fixable, but it will take a gunsmith.

Based on the limited information my first thought is that something is binding the barrel link.

As long as the brass is getting out the ejection pattern doesn't make much difference, but my guess is that there is not enough tension on the extractor.

Well it turned out to be a fractured reverse recoil spring plug that was the culprit. That in turn mangled the spring. I found an Ed Brown Officers Model guide rod assembly with a 24 lb spring and it's running better than new

Schmit, I will try to send you a PM

Ron,

Where did you pick up the Hi-Master?... I'd like to try a box.
Remember these?

Did these ever go into full production?
