Here is the very use friendly SOCOM16.
We used this yesterday with B P folks in the advanced training at Ft. Huachuca. One of the complaints they had was that the EBR's are too front heavy and you cnnot use the butt as a defensive tool/ The original SOCOM 16 properly soped changes all that. This is a supurb combat weapon out to a legitimate 600 meters.
We put a MeOpta K-Dot 1-4 Red Dot on a Sadlak Airborne Mount. If you need a cheekpiece take a G I washcloth and put it on with 90mph tape. This carbine balances perfectly and you can use the buttstock for a nice verticle or horzontle stroke

I like what you are doing with the Springfield and I can't wait to see
what SEI does with the 16.0" barreled M14s they are about to build.

I see you have run into the ignorant 'we hate all things M14/M1A' idiots over on THR.US... they are unwilling to learn anything.

Agree. Plus you get reduced muzzle velocity, reduced sight radius (not important if you're using optics, I concede), increased muzzle blast, and possibly increased recoil. Plus which, the full-length barrel is a proven reliable system; who knows with the shorties.

I shot an 18" barrelled .308 once, which cured me of ever wanting to own a short-barrelled .308 of any kind.

18.0" barreled M14s are my favorites followed by 22.0" variants.

I have some trigger time with a SOCOM in a TROY... it was very
nice and I am looking forward to using SEI's new 16" barrel soon.

And then there's those Robo-stocks...Again, they seem to work well, but I prefer something that at least resembles a rifle. :D

You did say Robo-stocks and the JAE is one heavy Mofo-stock.
I thought JAE might have been some sort of Internet slang. :) Google is my friend, today.

Threefeathers, you are doing great work... ignore the detractors over on
The High Road (THR) that forum is full of immature intellectually dishonest trolls.

Do you have any additional pictures to share?

Re: Final version of the SOCOM16 I developed for Border Patr

I like the Scout a bit better - that muzzle blast out of the SOCOM has to be vicious.

What is Dan doing with that broomstick and coffee cans? :?:

Nice weapon for the BP to have. Now if they were just allowed to actually USE them in carrying out their mission, by the upper management of their own agency.

The broomstick is what one of the Female Foreign officers flew in on. The coffee can is what I stand in front of the P X and hold out for donations.

Re: Final version of the SOCOM16 I developed for Border Patr

I finally get it back next week, none of the B P agents wanted to give it up. Actually the M-14 has been approved by the B P, I just used this to show what they can do with them.
