Thanks to Fernando and his gang, there are some new "flag" avatars in the "Patriotic" section of the Avatar list.
Go to your profile, and then to the Avatar List to see them.
They are all authentic USA (or Colonies) flags. All based on the colonial/Ben Franklin view of the rattlesnake as a neutral party, but fierce defender of his/her rights.
The one of the snake sections all cut up is Franklin's own design. There are several versions of it, based on the number of named colonies that he thought were ready to be counted in.
"Join or Die" refers to the snake's purported capability of coming back to life if the cut up sections somehow rejoined before sunset.
And, somehow I expect that most readers of this excellent web site will understand "Don't Tread on Me"
