Has anyone tried modifying their wood or fiberglass stocks to accept a forward vertical grip? Would it be worth the effort? Would it hold the rifle as stable as a leather sling? Saw a pic of a navy dude holding a M14 with a forward ggrip. Couldnt tell if the stock was wood or fiberglass. Your thought guys!

I've used epoxy and wood screws to fix a Picitinney rail to a synthetic Mini-14 stock. Then I added a vert. grip and tac-light. It hasn't given me any problems and has held up well. It seems to be very stable in firing, too.
