The Chief for Security and Law Enforcement for the district office of the Federal Agency I work for just returned from a 6 month detail in Iraq. He brought back many sad stories as well as many cool ones, especially about guns.

He says that the Iraqui police duty gun arsenal is basically comprised of a grab-bag of you-name-it... If you can think of it, they have it! SAA's, Lugers, P-38's, 1911s in 9mm, Super and 45, BHPs, CZs and the list goes on and on. The USMC unit he was with rounded up a WWII BAR with all its GI markings intact, only missing the mag. They'll bring it back to display it in their museum. He also visited Uday's palace where he had 3 AK's in display, one in solid gold, one in silver and one in platinum!

In an effort to standardize the police officers sidearms arsenal our generous DOD will provide them with 50,000 Glocks! Yes, FIFTY THOUSAND!

Do any you guys have a way to confirm this? That's a heck of a purchase from Don Gaston!

Let us know if you find anything about it!

Cheers,
Nemo

Certainly ironic to have a presentation grade "peoples" gun. Why not a gold plated Makarov? Or better yet, an original VW pimped out...
