Running out of current choices The missus and I started going back through our library. We watched Deadwood and just finished the first season of Justified. Just as good now as they were when they first came out.

Wallander

I discovered a BBC series on PBS called Wallander.
Kurt Wallander is a Swedish police detective who is flawed. He has a dysfunctional relationship with his family, he drinks a bit too much but this isn't overplayed to make the character pathetic. He closes cases. Gunfights are rare, the criminals are not a "Criminal Minds" freakshow of the week nor are they the omniscient übercriminal I have commented on in another post. I have enjoyed every episode I've watched and bought them on DVD.

We've seen some Wallander, maybe the first season? It's been a while though. A good role for Brannagh. More cerebral than a lot of cop shows.

On Good TV.
Has anyone experience with the pay access systems?

My Lady Wife has Amazon Prime for the shipping but I want to investigate the other services.

There is also Hulu in various forms.

I have cable with 800+ mostly unwatched channels and some flexible viewing options.

I've watched Taboo, The Expanse and Legion recently; ranked in order of watchability. Also been catching some eps of ER (wife is a DON) and NYPD Blue, which is arguably still one of the best things on the tube.

Where do you find a free copy of season 2 of The Expanse?

I'm starting Hell on Wheels once again. May go through Justified for my wife. We're watching NCIS from the beginning. There are 13 season on Netflix. finished Blue Bloods.

Fargo has started up again, if anyone is interested. also Bosch.
I have forgone Fargo but like season 3 of Bosch. That one is worth your time, IMO.

As to The Son, the time period (1910-1925) was a deadly time in South Texas for both Anglos and "Mexicans." The Anglos were busy stealing land for the peons and "Mexicans" were fomenting a revolution in Mexico. A lot of the scheming took place here in San Antonio's Menger Hotel. Oh, the show was filmed here too.

Meh.......
Watching DVDs of Peter Falk's COLUMBO series. Better than anything I've seen on TV in recent years....and it's been long enough I don't remember how Columbo peeled the onions the first time 'round!

I love Better Call Saul. Just started its third season but if you haven't seen it before, you have to go back and catch up. Right up there with Breaking Bad. I'm also watching The Americans, now about halfway through season 5.

Gotham just started back up. That has been STUNNINGLY well done for network TV. Every episode looks like a high-budget feature movie.

I'm hooked on Gotham. The wife, not so much. It is a show that is very intricately plotted, and a very different take on the Batman mythos.

Found Gotham on Netflix and started it today. Looks like it's going to be a good series with young Wayne and several others who played prominently with Batman.

Did Y'all skip Net-flick's "The Ranch"?
Nossir, I watched the first season (I have a soft spot in my heart for Sam Elliott), but with DSL and a 13 year old grandson with an iPhone in one hand and a PS4 controller in the other, my bandwidth is severely limited. :D

I plan on catching up with the second season here one day when he's out and about and I don't have anything else on my things to do list.
