Price would be too high, size is too large for the caliber.
Like the Savage .32 ACP with the 11 round magazine back around the turn of the 20th century, just too expensive.

Nice gun.

The new R51 (I have one of the 2.0 versions) is 9mm. and is very ergonomic, and while not the "cream of the crop" of semiautos, is a very nice gun. Mine has worked very well. I agree with Skeptic that reproducing an original would be too costly (atleast for sure at the current R51's price!) and, for a .380, it's really too big. My Sig P238 is small and also works well in .380.
I do like the cool "old-fashioned" lines of the original R51. I might pick one up if I could find a good one at a gun show.
