Irish Cop,

I sorry that she had to protect her loved ones with deadly force BUT equally I'm sure that she did what needed doing to protect the innocent from a predator.

She's the type of person to whom the taking of a human life is a profoundly sad experience...no matter that it was HIS doing, not hers.

Irish Cop,

IF I could ask her, I'd bet that she would prefer that her loved ones were still alive & well, even if it meant shooting an armed predator.
(As a nice lady, who is the wife of a friend of nine, said when asked by a Bexar County Deputy Sheriff after she shot AT an armed burglar, "The lives of my precious grandchildren were far more important than his.")

Maybe I'm just a cynic, but if that had happened where I used to live I bet the paper and TV would have found the first grade teacher who would have said what a good boy he was.

Good for her
Cynic? No Charlie...just an astute observer of human behavior.
