Winter is usually our dry season, but we had a slow, soaking 1/2" of rain yesterday. I four-wheeled out to the pavement, and 80 miles up to Alpine to get a hydraulic hose made for my backhoe. Got back, and Terlingua Creek had flashed off! Not very deep, fortunately.
Sometimes it's too deep to cross, per the attached photo
I guess the spookiest time was once when I misjudged the depth. I discovered that I could make it with the headlights under water. A buddy of mine who was watching told me later that the tail-lights had briefly disappeared...
