Looks like people are hedging their bets on Obama's re-election. Although one story I read (on Yahoo! ICK!) said it was three fold...Obama, the resurgence of survivalists, or "preppers" as they are calling them now, and those worried about...wait for it....a Zombie Apocalypse! No kidding!

Wonder of some of the Zompocalypsers were just having a little fun at the reporters' expense? LOL

Besides, we've already seen the Night Of The Living Dead anyway... the Zombie Uprising already happened, and its leader currently infests the Oval Office.

Check out a show on National Geographic each Tuesday night at 8:00PM, repeated Wed, at 7:00PM, "Doomsday Preppers." Each program interviews three preppers and examines what they're doing, what they believe will happen, evaluates how well they're "prepping" and evaluates how likely the chances of what they're prepping for actually occuring are.
Some are pretty wild albeit not impossible, like a enormous solar flare taking down our electrical power.
One thing some are prepping for is a serious economic collapse. The Nat Geo people think this is unlikely, but I am afraid I disagree; given we're @16 trillion dollars in debt and climbing, in my opinion this is much more likely to happen than a series of dirty bombs.
As for a "zombie apocolypse" we're actually already in the midst of one; they're all in Washington D.C. where they're busy sucking out the lifeforce of the average American worker!!!!!:cryinlaugh::cryinlaugh:

Tommy, in all seriousness, I don't think that the possibility of a world economic collapse is so far fetched myself.

I've seen the commercials for Doomsday Preppers, but I haven't checked it out yet.

I have started stockpiling dried pinto beans and rice. Gonna be a gassy post apocalyptic world. :D

to ALL,

truth is i never thought the surge on weapons & ammo ever slowed down. - that's WHY i started reloading every caliber that i have rifles/shotguns/handguns for (except .22LR). = just TOO CHEAP to pay those prices i guess.

fwiw, my P-17 (designed by Ed, my "brother of the heart") "small game loads" are REALLY cheap & DEADLY out to 60-75M, make little noise & ruin LITTLE edible meat.
(great practice for deer season, too.)

yours,sw
