The Federal Bureau of Investigation processed a record number of background checks in the month of October, indicating that gun sales were at an all time high for the sixth month in a row.

<snip>

Gun rights activists have pointed to Democrats' calls for new gun control measures as one reason why gun sales have increased. Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton has said that the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment, that Australian style mandatory gun buybacks should be considered in the United States, and that she would implement new gun control through executive action.

"Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton are the best gun salespeople on the planet. The more they scream for new gun control laws the more guns walk off the shelves at gun stores," said Alan Gottlieb, the head of the Second Amendment Foundation. "To quote the lyrics of Peter, Paul and Mary, 'When will they ever learn?"'

So, all of a sudden, Hillary is wiser than SCOTUS. She plans to -- what? -- overturn their Hiller decision?
Use executive action (like Obama) and issue proclamations?:ek:
:cluebat:
When are we going to get our Constitution back?:banghead::banghead:

Time to buy more ammunition --- again.

"Executive Action" is just another term for dictatorship. It is a term which makes obedience to one, more palatable.

EA undermines the very core of this nation's founding and is counter to any democratic society.

What seems to be lost in any "guns and ammo" discussion, is that one can never out ammo the government, never out gun the government. (Don't think this is true, just look at the way military weapons and technology is being pushed to the local police forces.)

With just the stroke of the pen, an "___________ emergency" can be declared by almost any government official, which will immediately make criminals of all citizens who bear arms.

Of course, this is not a new situation. During the Revolutionary War, anyone who fought against Britain's tyranny, was considered a traitor. Many in that generation paid a price which many today are not willing to pay.

Robert, it doesn't take a large standing army to win in the long run. Look at Viet Nam. The VC fought and defeated the French and ultimately wore down the U.S. politicians and pfcs. The U.S. mistakenly agreed to a cease fire in 1972 and in 1975 a smaller, more determined army drove us out.

I agree.

As a nation we have learned nothing. Southeast Asia was ill conceived and poorly executed. Ditto for the last (14) years or so.

What do they say about repeating the same mistakes but expecting a different outcome?

An interesting statistic but for who?

To equate the number of guns sold to an increase in support for all things 2nd amendment, would be a gross mistake. The fact that these numbers are tracked by the government should be an indicator.

Demography is destiny. As the make-up of the population changes, and it is, then support for the 2nd amendment will decrease. In fact, support for all things constitutional will wain.

Hillary wants to make gun control a ballot issue...oh yeah baby; bring it ON!!!

Then they'll see just how much us working class stiffs disagree with the likes of Hillary Clinton.

I remember the ballot initiative in California to outlaw handguns. They just thought it was a gimme since it was California; it went down in horrific flames...wasn't even close. Actually could have been the most one sided CA proposition ever.

I'm telling you, that's what will happen on a national level. Even the big liberal cities will vote it down, they just won't vote it down with as clear of a margin.

In the last few years, in fact, SCOTUS rulings and other legal developments have done more to widen the scope of 2A rights than to constrict them.
There have always been attacks on the Constitution, some successful, others backfire and others fizzle.

Agree 100% and I would doubt you would get an argument out of a single person on the board.

Right again but numbers come into play and demographics were as certain parts of the country would definitely fall faster than others and Government against brother, father, mother etc. I feel would not bode well.

At that point the traitor would be all of DC no matter party allegiance no matter how hard the government tried to reverse that view.
