A friend of mine told me that he read somewhere that someone slipped in re-importation of Korean Garands and Carbines into the December Cromnibus bill. Anyone else hear such a rumor?

Sec. 8018. None of the funds available to the Department of Defense may be used to demilitarize or dispose of M-1 Carbines, M-1 Garand rifles, M-14 rifles, .22 caliber rifles, .30 caliber rifles, or M-1911 pistols, or to demilitarize or destroy small arms ammunition or ammunition components that are not otherwise prohibited from commercial sale under Federal law, unless the small arms ammunition or ammunition components are certified by the Secretary of the Army or designee as unserviceable, unsuitable, or unsafe for further use.

That's it. The worrying thing is, who defines "unserviceable, unsuitable, or unsafe for further use"? 'Cuz to the Demoscumbags, ANY firearm is both of the last two...

Given a couple of days, I could come up with MANY outright, intentional, premeditated LIES told by BHO, who I regard as utterly UNFIT by reason of general dishonesty to be a local school board member, much less any other "position of public trust".

The numbers of INTENTIONAL, MEAN-spirited, SELF-serving LIES told by his "inner circle" for momentary partisan advantage would likely be numbered in the tens of thousands.

If tomorrow, the WH staff discovered that 1 percent of the voting public wanted to engage in cannibalism, they would describe the cannibals as having "a valid alternate lifestyle" & publish a cookbook for preparing people as food.

Keep your health plan? I'd say more "mistake" than "lie," and that's a big difference.

Garands and such? Sure, I don't care for that part of the Democratic Party platform. There are major parts of the GOP I don't care for, either. I'll wait and see if the Dems begin to oppose ideas in this congress just because the GOP presents them - that's what I've seen the GOP do for the last six years.

In my opinion, McConnell's stated wish to have Obama fail - and to cause it - is pretty close to treason. What would our position be if it weren't the GOP Senate Minority Leader (at the time) who said that but instead were from Communist North Korea?

(1) Banking, (2) trade, and (3) finance? (1) The Great Recession of 2008 nearly crashed the US and world financial system, and no one has been prosecuted - this is not normal Democratic Party behavior. I worked the Savings and Loan Crisis (late 1995) and we put plenty of those crooks behind bars in 1995-96. (2) The Trans Pacific (trade) pact was negotiated in secret with input from hundreds of corporate staffers and few generally from the typically-Democratic types, such as labor or environmentalists. It includes trademark and patent protections corporations couldn't get through Congress - see "SOPA." (3) We have just weakened the one law that came from the Great Recession, and now now financial institutions can trade derivatives again, just as if the USG hadn't put billions of dollars into bailing out the companies who did it in 2008.

My point isn't that you can't dislike Obama - I don't - but that some of the things i see written about him are just not true. Would he like to be a liberal? Probably, but he hasn't shown much of it with his actions so far, regardless of what the wing nits say.

ADDENDA: When BHO has been "caught" in an OBVIOUS lie, ABC, CBS, NBC & PBS "news" have generally made excuses for his "miss-statements", rather than pointing out that he LIED.
(His dishonesty has recently become so obvious that THE WASHINGTON POST, which is a "progressive"/liberal newspaper, has started awarding him 3-4 "Pinocchios" for his dishonest "talking points".)
