My interest in firearms is predominantly hunting, and then self-defense and plinking. I just never have been able to get excited about para-military look-alikes. Don't misunderstand me, please; if it floats your boat, all well and good.

There are so doggoned many of these things out there, and most of them leave me with, "So, what's the point?"

I dunno...

Aw, there's no doubt that plinker-guns are fun. I've probably thought more of dual-purpose: A mix of fun and "serious stuff", like rabbits and coyotes as well as tin cans.

Back when I started reloading, all I had was a .22 semi-auto and a 1917 Enfield '06. Reloading makes any gun's shooting very inexpensive. Lead gas-checks made it possible to a bunch of '06-ing on a low budget. (And, wow! Was that budget low!)

To me, most all of the para-military stuff is awkward to handle, compared to conventional stocks. And Lord knows, I've tried most everything, at one time or another...
