Amazing talent. I also love the tables...those are some hi-quality slabs, and the stainless accoutrements look fantastic.
I haven't played pool or 8 ball in years. All the tables I played had had too many drunks near them and the felt was a mess.

I know the kind. I learned most of what I know about the game on a ratty table in the O-club in Lubbock, TX. The teacher was my flight commander, one helluva pilot and an artiste with a pool cue.

He ended up as a three-star general. In hindsight he really didn't need my money...

Several decades ago, Minnesota Fats was appearing on The Tonight Show. Before he came out, a singer came out and sat on the pool table since it was set-up and not to be moved.
Later, Minnesota comes out, sets up a trick shot, and it fails. He looks at the table as says: "Did someone sit on the table?"

Here's an example of Applied English and positional play in a Snooker match.
For those unfamiliar: The table is 11 feet 8.5 inches by 5 ft 10 in. For each red ball potted the player is allowed a shot on a numbered ball. The numbered ball is spotted after being potted and another red ball is played until all of the red balls are potted. Then the numbered balls are potted in sequence. The maximum possible score is 147 if you pot the seven ball (Black) once for each red potted. This perfect score was good for £147,000.
