What I would look for in a BHP is one of the Luxemburg, Belgian, Dutch, Norwegian or Danish marked BHP that were CANADIAN-made & then issued to the civilian police after WWII.
(I understand that those were issued/used for FEW months & then were "withdrawn & stored".)
IF it was me, I would also look for a BRD police-marked P38, that was issued in 1945-6 to the WACHTSMEISTERS in early Post-WWII Germany.
