My thirteen year-old daughter exchanges texts with a girl she knows in England (the modern version of being pen pals.) Occasionally they trade good-natured barbs about British and American stereotypes. The following exchange occurred this morning:

English girl: I have to run to the cupboard and fetch some tea.

Daughter: You keep your tea in the cupboard?

English girl: Of course. Where do you keep your tea?

Daughter: In the harbor.

Nicely done.
