Ah but in 1944 it was "The good War" and we were making progress towards our goals in logical fashion.

Didn't 24,000 Americans die during the FIRST DAY on Omaha Beach? Sure, every life is precious, but that's why people die fighting for freedom, and the lives of those who will be alive to enjoy that freedom. This country has no guts for anything any more. It's not the country I grew up in and thought I would become an adult in some day.

No guts, no glory.
