Looking for exactly when was produce. I know it's showing to be 81-88 stake out model 37. Just wanted to know what year exactly and if it ok to lightly sand but stock and grip to refinish it or will knock value off. Thanks guys
There's a lot to questions about reworking wood and whether it'll lower value.
in "most cases" any alterations will lower a guns value, BUT much depends on how valuable the gun is and what the condition is.
A standard production older gun probably won't take as much a hit as a more valuable gun, and a wreck with badly worn wood may actually have the value increased by a good quality refinish.
In the end, it comes down to "It's your gun, do what you want".
