I have a Ithaca 1926 nig that came in for repair. I fixed the stock. my problem is I can't figure out how to tear it completely down for a thorough cleaning. I have everything out except the hammers and associated springs. I have the cocking levers out, the associated specialty nut, can't get the cocking rod and hammers out. at a total loss. not sure if it is a lever spring like the older models or the coil spring like the nid. I've decided it's a coil spring. probably like the nid.
