The ANTIFAS & other LEFTIST groups are reliably said to be "arming themselves". = I suspect that when DJT is reelected in 2020 & the HoR is back in GOP hands, the SHOOTING WAR will start in the major cities, especially when the POTUS appoints another CONSERVATIVE Constitutionalist to the SCOTUS.
The late/much lamented Justice Scalia was/is far from the USA's only conservative jurist.

I've feared for some time we were heading for civil war 2.0, what with the divisive rhetoric, proposed gun laws, ever increasing national debt, and now with groups like antifa on the rise and ...."Trump Derangement Syndrome" becoming pandemic in certain arenas.

Hummm. I just scanned the article above. Now, depending upon just how the left coast was cut up, that could work to benefit the conservative cause. Prior to WWII, northern Oregon and southern Washington were considering becoming the state of Jefferson. This was an urban vs rural thing, but the catch is, one doesn't know if the concept is economically sound. Tax revenue has to come from somewhere.
Northern Kalifornia and some eastern parts of the south part of the state have, at least reportedly, felt neglected and oppressed. Again, is it economically supportable?
Then, there's southern and northern NJ. Upstate and downstate NY. I think a split NY would be economically feasible.
Considering the recent SCOTUS decision on electors, Podesta's Electoral College scheme would likely result in an actual constitutional crisis. Not the media manufactured ones we're used to.

Actually, Jefferson was conservative Southern Orgon and Northern California, down to about Redding.

If you just take out the I-5 Corridor from Everett to Olympia, the rest of WA becomes an instant Purple-leaning-Red state.

As a former resident of PA, I'd suggest that as a destination. Would help counter balance the Philly/Pittsburgh population centers. The Ragin' Cajun (can't recall his real name) once referred to PA as "Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama in between."
Actually, Harrisburg (state captial) also qualifies as the city lives off the government.
It's been decades, but supposedly western MA is a whole 'nothern state from Boston.

Hmmm... what if we...

>Carve off the DC Beltway counties to MD
>Carve off any remaining VA counties that want to transfer to WV
>Trade Boston and environs to Rhode Island
>Carve off NYC and its suburb counties into an entire new state
>Split North CA at about Redding to make new South Jefferson
>Split South OR, south of about Salem, to become new North Jefferson
>Split Eastern Washington, the eastern halves of the Puget Sound counties and everything south of Thurston County to become new North Lincoln
>Split Eastern Oregon and the western slopes/foothills to become South Lincoln
Eventual intent would be to merge the two Lincoln and Jefferson halves into wholes once emancipated from our current evil urban overlords.

The "DC Beltway counties" are already MD. And MD's eastern shore is very conservative and would want out of leftist MD too.
Might be easier to break out the liberal counties in northern VA, join them with the liberal counties in MD, and call that New Maryland. Western MD, the eastern shore, the rest of Virginia, and West Virgina could become United Virginia.

The mess spill South and West to Manassas. Government contractors and illegals/day laborers Obama let stay. But that was 10 years back.
Side note re: West Virginia. State was formed during Lincoln's war. Union folks decided they wanted out of Virginia and Lincoln granted statehood.

Ed H________ my "little brother of the heart" has SEEN a copy of a memo from the Governor of WV to each of the County & Chartered City Executives West of the NOVA area & stated that those counties/independent cities MAY, by joint resolution of the WV government, join WV with only a majority vote of the citizens of each county/city.
