Welcome Viet Vet 67-68, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service and having to deal with one of the most difficult situations I can imagine. I know that's a cheap understatement for your experience, but it's heartfelt. God bless you.
One thing though. Be careful about saying that you're coming in BEHIND a guy named Brutal Tuna.
I have a question that I have never had answered. When looking at footage of Viet Nam grunts trudging through the paddies or Jungle I have often seen guys with what looks like a little plastic bottle of clear looking fluid carried in a band around their helmets. I have always suspected it was for cleaning or lubing their rifles (M-16's?) Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what it was?
I knew that's what was in them, Insect repellent or CLP. I wasn't over there but that's what I remember guys telling me it was. The bugs were terrible and the new (at the time) M-16's sucked. Thanks Viet Vet 67-68. 8)
I just received an e-mail about the purchase of BattleRifles.com and the transfer of command.
I'm looking forward to joining in here and hopefully I can make a worthwhile contribution from time to time.
