Kahr Firearms Gives Up On New York; Prefers Pennsylvania

Kahr Firearms Group of Pearl River is moving out of New York and relocating to Pennsylvania. Kahr is the first gunmaker to announce it's leaving because of the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act. This is the first law in the nation prompted by the killing of 20 first-graders and six educators in Newtown, Conn., in December last year. Frank Harris, Kahr's vice president for sales and marketing, said, 'We're looking for a more friendly environment for our business….maybe we could have stayed here and built a plant, but the way the bill was passed left us feeling there were a lot of uncertainties going forward." He added,"Why take a chance when we can be in a state where they're not looking to cause us any problems?"

Personally, I believe that the Northeastern firearms makers would be FAR better off to relocate to SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS & get away from Damnyankeeland FOREVER.

Here they will never have to worry about an ANTI- gun/business climate and NO ice/snow either.

You left coast folks have good seafood BUT I bet that we have much better GREEN ENCHILADAS, which I had a platter of this evening at PETE's TAKO HOUSE.
(YEP, Pete's spells it "Tako", in memory of a chef who once worked for the family-owned café.)

Not to mention:
1. Tacos al carbon,
2. Barbacoa,
3. Carne Guisado
4. Chorizo & eggs for breakfast
and
5. LOTS of other "Tex-Mex goodies" & BBQ that I missed in VA, even after 25 years.

Maryland/Delaware Blue Crabs here! But I sure would like to be able to get some good Green Chili New Mex-Mex food close by. If I want it, I have to make it.

Bring your "toucas" down to SA & we'll take you to TACIERA MEXICO, the SA home of New Mexican cuisine. - They have all the Zuni, Apache, Hopi, Navaho & other NM specialties, including EXCELLENT mutton stew on the weekends.
(Their main chef is a fullblood HOPI.)

Just be sure to bring some CRAB CAKES with you.

Note to ALL: DE has only ONE state park but it's a "goodie". - I miss fishing the surf at DE State Park.

Would that I could SW. I would love to take a few weeks doing a "food tour" of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. I have a sister who lives in Albuquerque and I haven't been out there in years.

Newport bay...they were Dungeness crabs...lots of "dirty" crab and females and juveniles. We spent 3 hours out and re-soaked the pots after every 30 mins or so... I was told to come back in months that end with "R" and the crabbing is much better...

Yeah, we had AWESOME Mex food in California but not here on the coast of Oregon....its bland. I'm an old Garland Tx boy myself...back in the 60's. Too hot and muggy for me but awesome food and nice folks. More conservatives for sure...

Guess it's a good thing I stayed way the Hell away from the beach when relatives dragged me down to Newport last summer... I have a pathological severe phobia of the crustacean set, to the point that just SEEING one provokes an immediate full-Fight-or-Flight response. (On the level of "Suck wind, reverse course and prepare to evade or Drag Iron and Make Ready"...)

Back to the original subject, I'd be inclined to suggest that ALL productive industry should leave the Soviet Socialist Kleptocracy of Damnyankeestan... then again, the Left Coast ain't a whole lot better. There are times when part of me thinks we should evacuate everybody right-thinking from the left coast and just let the Chinese have it... that way we know exactly where to drop the nukes and the Cascades and Sierra Nevadas should block most of the fallout.
