Folks,
I have been carrying my Kahr P9094N in a fanny pack. I put the spare magazine in one of the pockets, with my cell phone.

Warning! If a Kahr magazine is NOT in a magazine carrier the rounds will work their way out of the magazine!

My backup 8 became a 3 shot reload in a couple of weeks. I did a search and this is a known problem.

Back to working up the Galco shoulder rig, as soon as my Doctor clears me for shooting again.

That's a strange thing for a magazine to do.

Hope all works out well with your surgery...take good care of your eyes and give us an update. And you're under orders to give good news!!!

Kahr magazines have always had an issue with "shedding" rounds unless carried in a good magazine pouch.

This is not the only gun with this issue.
I used to carry a S&W 3913 and at the end of a long day in and out of a car, I'd find a number of rounds loose in the fanny pack.
Other guns will also do this unless in a mag pouch.

It's just a quirk of the brand and you have to learn how to eliminate the problem in order to get the advantages of the Kahr design.
I finally learned not to just drop spare mags from ANY gun into a pocket or pack loose.

I've gone from nearsighted to far sighted. It takes 6 weeks to fully heal, but on Monday I should be cleared for most purposes. Right now I can't bend over or lift more than 10 pounds and I have a pillow to keep me from rolling right in the night and wear an eye protector on the operated eye.

I will still need 28 inch computer/front sight glasses and reading glasses.

This type of thing isn't limited to Kahr, various other brands/models have had migrating rounds including while in the gun. Those who remember 1911 mags with flat followers may recall the projecting dimple in the follower that was meant to prevent movement of rounds except when stripped by the slide.

When we were issued 10 mm S&Ws they initially had the bad habit of pulling the next round about halfway out of the magazine during feeding. Revised followers cured the problem. Perhaps you should contact Kahr about this issue.

I learned (fortunately on the range) that not keeping magazines in a pouch wasn't conducive to proper functioning. Nothing cleans lint out of your pockets like a loaded magazine.

Here's one of those dimpled magazines. I bought a bunch a year or two back for my Rock Island compact/commander 1911.

People have complained to Kahr since the company was founded about the magazines shedding rounds when carried loose.

The problem has to do with the basic design necessary for the gun to function. Kahr (and common sense) says not to carry a pistol magazine loose in a pocket.
Putting a Kahr mag in a proper mag pouch fixes the "problem".

As for aging eyes, my buddy bought a S&W M&P .45 some years ago and noticed problems with his eyes.
When he shoots long range rifle he wears prescription shooting glasses, but you cant take time to put them on in a parking lot at midnight.

So, he sent his M&P out to a custom pistolsmith and had the top of the slide milled to accept a mount for a small Eotech sight.
Interestingly, the pistolsmith milled the slide to accept an iron sight as a back up in case the dot dies.
What is interesting is that the back up iron is IN FRONT of the electronic sight, in a dovetail right behind the ejection port and in a true co-witness with the dot and front sight.

S&W is beginning to offer M&P models pre-machined for a dot mount.

He says that if he shoots with iron sights at 25 yards he can keep about 50% of the bullets in the black.
If he shoots with the Eotecht, he can keep 95% PLUS in the black and do it much faster and easier.

The down side is the sight is rather large but it still fits into his Kydex IWB holster.
He and I both found that you have to relearn how to hold the gun with the Eotech because when held as you normally do you can't "find" the reticle.
It seems that for some reason you have to cock the muzzle upward more.
Once you learn that, it's very fast on target.

In the old days, when your eyes went, with a rifle it was either an aperture sight or a scope.
With pistols, you just hoped you'd get them somewhere on the paper.
Now with the electronic sights getting better and smaller we have some excellent options to continue shooting, even defensive shooting.

I put a peep on my Model 97 and my .54 caliber "Hawken" years ago. My Winchester 62A open hammer .22 has become a safe queen as I won't change the factory sights. My very old Marlin 36R .30-30 also has factory buckhorns, but every other long gun has a scope.

My handguns rely on my ability to index on the gun as Jim Cirillo taught. Front sights are just a blur with my bifocals. Oh, I've some yellow shooting glasses but the world is just a blur even it the front sight is perfectly sharp.

The Kahr has always interested me, but I've never found one in any LGS to fondle.

That said, exactly what is the mag follower made from? If metal, one might try duplicating the dimple as illustrated in the picture csmkersh so kindly provided. If plastic, might one drill a small hole and install a really short metal pin to achieve the same effect? IIRC, S&W's solution to migrating rounds included a molded dimple in a location to contact the case rim if the round started forward. I'm too lazy to go look at magazines just at the moment.
