I went to visit a gun smith friend of mine for a good extractor spring for one of my M1's. He had some nice ones so I bought two.
I also noticed he had a pair of M14 flash hiders with boyonet lugs intact and front sights. Now I have always disliked the Clintonized flash hider on my M1A so I asked him how much? He says $25.00 and I say I'll take both. When I mentioned that I was going to national match ream them in my lathe, (I figured on buying a reamer) he says, "Here, you can borrow mine and here's the M14 barrel stub I use to hold them in the lathe."
So I got them reamed and reparked and returned the reamer and stub. Not bad for $50.00! (My brother already cried dibbs on the other one.)

Good score! Congrats. The front sight posts are worth what you paid for the entire assembly.

What size reamer did you use to ream those flash hiders?

Most excellent park job bythe way 8)

Kuhnhausen's book specifies a #7 taper pin reamer.
