I always thought the Vulcan was a good looking bomber. With the exception of the Spit I've never thought the Brits built very pretty airplanes (at least not without French collaboration).
That having been said, the Sea Vixen looks quite fetching. Late at night, if the bar was closing...
Agreed. Not impressed with the Vixen, especially when you consider all of its teething problems. With the exception of the Spit I've never thought the Brits built very pretty airplanes (at least not without French collaboration).

If you meet two girls at a bar, there's usually one really hot one and her OKish looking friend "with a great personality." That is how I see the Spitfire and the Hurricane.CaptainGyro,
You don't like the Hawker Hurricane??
yours, sw
Mr.Spock would agree.:roll:I always thought the Vulcan was a good looking bomber.
The workhorse of the S.O.E.I always liked the Westland Lysander...Britain's workhorse spy plane.
Homely, but lovable.
That's what I meant by spy plane. It was just a spy plane of a different sort. Rather than directly doing the spying, it delivered the spies...and pizza when there were no spies to deliver. The workhorse of the S.O.E.
Pizza? That must have been MI6.That's what I meant by spy plane. It was just a spy plane of a different sort. Rather than directly doing the spying, it delivered the spies...and pizza when there were no spies to deliver.
Now I am glad somebody considered the Mosquito because that was a bad ass crate that could move. The only other British plane I liked besides the Spitfire was the Mosquito, though it did have a kind of "Junkers" look to it.
