When I was a cadet at the Air Force Academy the famous bottle of brandy and the 80 goblets in their display case were housed in Arnold Hall, and I passed by them many times. In those days a great many of the goblets were still upright.

It's sad to think that Col. Cole's goblet will now be turned upside down. RIP.

Some ballsy kids.

They climbed into a BOMBER on an aircraft carrier, in the middle of rough seas.
Armed and armored with an A2 leather jacket and a .45 they flew off on what they knew was, one way or another, a one-way mission.

People say we don't make kids like that anymore.
Think again and talk to a Faluga Marine or a Kandahar infantryman.

You had have big brass one to be a member of a bomber crew. Both US and UK were running 70% losses on their runs in Germany. For the Doolittle guys to do what they did---

csmkersh,

WELL SAID.

My Dad was "in B-17s" for 28 runs to Germany during WWII. - He & Rufus Meadows were the only 2 survivors of that crew from the War.

yours, sw
